David Walliams

Best-selling children's author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

A spokesman for the publisher stated: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was reached following an review of allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at female individuals.

The publisher declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

To date, he has released more than 40 books altogether, including a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

From Screen to Page

He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
