Paramount Skydance Plans to Eliminate Around 2,000 American Positions – Update
Paramount Skydance is scheduled to start large-scale job cuts the week of 27 October, cutting approximately 2,000 American roles as part of a budget-saving initiative totaling $2bn led by top executive David Ellison.
The workforce reduction come after the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed during August valued at $8.4bn.
Additional overseas workforce reductions are likely, with Paramount Skydance aiming to disclose all specifics during its third quarter earnings report scheduled for November 10.
Previous updates suggested that Paramount aimed to cut between 2,000 to 3,000 roles by the beginning of next month.
As of December 2024, Paramount retained almost 18,600 full- and part-time employees and 3,500 project-based staff.
The organization has not provided a response on the matter.
